This is the last week of the 40 Days and we are dealing with the final leg of the journey, beyond the Rudra granthi (Rudra is the destruction of the thoughts, of all the conditioned patterns, the dismantling of all these ego patterns). There is a space within us that is beyond the ego: infinite consciousness, infinite intelligence. Ego is a limited expression of the Kundalini, used just for the Play. Beyond the ego is the infinite One.

Manas is the exterior expression of the brow (ajna chakra). It relates to the sensory system, collecting information, and to directing the activities. Beyond the manas is another point, the bindu.

Shiva says in the Guru Gita: rūpaṁ binduriti jñeyaṁ, rūpātītaṁ nirañjanam (verse 121). The rupa (form) is known as the bindu, but beyond where we produce the forms is the pure One, the infinite One. Bindu is the blue pearl, that original, singular light, where forms are created. If you want to go beyond bindu, you need to pierce the bindu. Along the spinal column is the chitrini nadi that goes straight to the bindu.

There is a verse from the Shiva Shadakshara Stotram: Omkaram bindu-samyuktam nityam dhyayanti yoginah | kamadam mokshadam caiva omkaraya namo namah. The omkara emerges from the bindu (nāda-bindu-kalātītaṁ, verse 70 Guru Gita – all the om sound comes from the bindu).

The bindu is an important point. What happens here? The ego begins to get into this awareness of a oneness relationship with the Divine. It becomes drawn to feeling divinity. Before that bindu can be pure, it is still taken up with the manas. There is a bit of a tug of war: the soul moving into the Divine in absorption and back into activity and the manas. It doesn’t know the stability. We need that stability in the bindu, and that’s where the Guru comes in. That is where the Guru chakra is, the Guru principle. The function of the outer Guru is to help us to wake this up. No one can do it except the Guru who knows the secret of the bindu and lives beyond it. There are not many Gurus like that! You need the Sadguru who can take you to the formless.

So the mantra Omkaram bindu-samyuktam nityam dhyayanti yoginah |
kamadam mokshadam caiva omkaraya namo namah
says that the true yogis focus on the bindu. It grants us both the external pleasures and moksha (liberation)! I bow to that omkara bindu.

The meditation journey here is extremely important! When you sit for meditation, you need to become more aware! Guruji has been trying to tell us how important the mental field is, and we have been holding this field with him. He is impressed that we can hold the field. Then we are with him. When Guruji is centered in the bindu and beyond, we are with him and riding his wave. His life purpose is to wake up people beyond the bindu so he couldn’t be more happy. Those are the souls he needs around him. Nityam dhyayanti yoginah – the yogis are constantly operating from that center!

In regression experiences that Guruji read about, the regression therapist says that for the most advanced souls, when you come into their presence, all you feel is a presence or you may see a blue light. There is no form! There is no other form! They can assume any form, but they live in that space. It is tremendously exciting. If you can only be excited about that field beyond the blue pearl, everything will be yours: kamadam mokshadam caiva. We have this week to discuss that.

You need to stay aware of the ego. When you discuss this today in the study groups, don’t think that you know! Share your experiences but no one should be in the experience of knowing. This is the space of not knowing! He or she who knows that they know not, truly knows.

In today’s midday meditation, you need to focus on the field. You need to feel the Guru wherever you are. In these 40 Days, Guruji is sharing his being with us. That which we feel here is where he lives in. And we all exist in this one field. It is the oneness principle of being!

Summary

  • The final leg of the journey is the journey beyond the Rudra granthi where we dismantle all the ego patterns. There is a space within us beyond the ego: the infinite consciousness. The ego is a limited expression of Kundalini, used just for the Play.
  • Manas is the exterior expression of the brow chakra and there is another point, the bindu, that takes us within to become one with the Divine. The bindu is the blue pearl, that original, singular light from where all forms are created. We need to pierce the bindu and go beyond all forms to the formless, the pure One, the infinite One.
  • When the soul journeys beyond the bindu, it is initially still taken up with manas, and there is a tug of war: the soul moving into the Divine in absorption and back into activity and the manas. It doesn’t know the stability. To get this stability, we need the Sadguru who knows the secret of the bindu and lives beyond it.
  • The sadhana beyond the bindu, the meditation, is extremely important. We need to stay aware of the ego and don’t think that we know. And we need to focus on the field. We need to feel the Guru wherever we are. He is sharing his being with us. We all exist in one field.

Enjoy the practices!

(Each day, I’ll try to give some notes and a short summary of the main practices outlined in Guruji’s morning talk, shortly after the program finishes!)
