Today we explore our relationship with Kundalini Shakti. She makes yoga come alive. Can you imagine yoga without Kundalini Shakti? You can observe the difference when She appears in the space. She turns yoga into Mahayoga, the magical yoga where all yogas come alive (hatha, raja, jnana, laya, mantra yoga).
She is driving the evolutionary journey! You are thinking that you are the seeker, but She is driving the seeking! So, who is the seeker? She created the veil of maya to be in a game. We are a consequence of that game. The ego, this false sense of self and doership is the result of Her maya. So, who is the seeker? Kundalini is the seeker! You have the false idea that you are seeking, but that is only ignorance. This “I” will disappear, it has no future. You build it continuously, but it has no future. Look at how we embellish the “I”. How crazy our world is. The whole education system is about building the ego. Life is about ego, possessions, power, lust, hate, greed, violence. It is the false ego at work. Phantom power, not real power!
When will we wake up to realize that She is the doer, not us? The ego has a false sense of doership, and we continuously nourish that. “I am sick, I am the victor, I know more than you.” We feed competition. When competitors can realize that losing and winning is part of a play, they will play the game no matter whether they win or lose. The joy is in the game. That is true awareness of competition.
She has us in this Play and we need to wake up to realize that the ego has no real power. It only delays the freedom by thinking it has power.
Do you have any relationship with Her? Does your ego dominate or does Her power? When you sing with Guruji, you lose your ego and are in His play of energy. Guruji does nothing except in and through Her and then we sing with Her as well. We come out of the singing so elevated, but it goes away! Where does this magic go, where does Kundalini go? We go back to working, eating, fighting, battling with life! The ego overtakes!
You need to take the opportunity to examine where you can connect with Her, where She is communicating with you, cause She is if you are awakened! Is She in the root area, the sacral, the navel? Do you see the lessons? Do you analyze when the Guru tells you that this is a kriya of a certain area? She is messaging you. When you are wise enough, you listen to the Guru and begin to practice it.
She will challenge your lower area and you need to observe this. She is doing this so that She can express Herself freely in this area. The senses are not bad in itself, but you need sattva to delight in them! Your animal nature can become transformed. You can enjoy food without lust, sex with spirituality, but not be caught. But the lower area can’t be purified unless you have Kundalini in the higher areas. You need the Guru power awakened in you.
And before you can get to the head, She will visit you in the heart and clean this up, and then lead you to the head. Those are the three granthis. Only when you reach into the Rudra granthi will you feel the power to manage the rest. Until then, the best thing you can do is stay safe by following the instruction of the Guru (or the inner guide if you can communicate with that effectively).
And with your sadhana you need to protect yourself from the ignorance and the mistakes you make out of ignorance. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. When you know that you know not, you truly know. When the false ego realizes it doesn’t know, then it is on the path of real knowing. She will inform you at every point what to do, how to act, how to move. That which you are knows everything and will grant you access as needed. Can you live in that certainty and that freedom? Your little puny brain cannot know the enormity of everything. You need to connect with That which knows everything.
When She comes into the heart, She opens up the heart and begins this purification. It becomes a beautiful communication with you and Her, in chanting, speaking, and actions. The mudras will come, the effortless in speaking will come. You feel Her in your voice and hands. The false ego will still be there, so search further, develop your awareness more. Enjoy this and let Her guide you higher!
When She comes to the brow, She begins to reveal Her secret nature to you! She begins to excite your mind, open up the thought space and guide you from inside. That’s beyond the Rudra granthi. A beautiful journey up in that space! This requires a different kind of sadhana. You cannot mix with all these energies around you but you need to protect your sacred space. Being more alone becomes more attractive. Processing becomes more joyful as you feel another power behind your thought. You see more now, all the remnants in the chakras lower down that are not pure. She makes everything visible to you and helps you, if you co-create with Her.
Let go and become the perfect instrument of Her Divine will. You will lose the sense of doership, but you need to be comfortable with letting go! You cannot be uncomfortable with not knowing, you cannot be uncomfortable with Her alone, no, you just need Her! “I don’t want to lose you, Mother. Stay with me! I need you!” That is the kind of surrender that is required in the upper space.
So what is your relationship with Kundalini Shakti? You need to examine that! It is a marvelous journey when you can let Her guide you the full distance, and when you can listen to the counsel of the noble and follow the instructions of the wise Guru.

- When the false ego realizes it doesn’t know, then it is on the path of real knowing. That which you are knows everything and will grant you access as needed.
- You need sadhana to protect yourself from ignorance, and you especially need sadhana when you journey deeper into the upper space. You cannot mix with all these energies around you but need to protect your sacred space.
- When She takes you beyond the Rudra granthi, you start to feel another power behind your thought and processing becomes more joyful. She makes all the remnants of the lower chakras that are not pure visible to you. Co-create with Her to clean these up.
- To become the perfect instrument of Her, you need to be comfortable with letting go, with not knowing, with losing the sense of doership. You just need Her: “I don’t want to lose you, Mother. Stay with me! I need you!”
