We have been speaking about the intellect and how important that instrument of buddhi is in the space. It is an antahkarana, an inner instrument of the soul. You have three inner instruments: the ego, the buddhi, and the manas. The ego, the “I”-maker is at the center of the play. The intellect is that processing power, that we can think through things and discriminate, so that we can grow in consciousness and uncover that infinite consciousness that we are.

We call it a Play, but the ego may not think it is a Play. It can have a miserable experience in its ignorance and desire for power and pleasure. Whose Play is it? The Play of the Divine, playing in itself, creating an ego for its Play. An ego that begins with ignorance, darkness, tamas, and then through life experiences, the ego begins to search for itself. And the Self is always at the center of it, in complete transcendental awareness of the ego in its Play. It is behind the ego continuously.

We overlook this and think, “Where is the Divine, where is Kundalini?” She is always there! She is waiting for you to begin to look for Her, to seek Her out, to come back to Her. She is at every step of the Play. It is not She who is having a problem, but She is trying to support you and show you what to do. She does not need the kriya, you need the kriya! When you are not aligned to Her, how can you enjoy the game? Only when you begin to see through Her eye (the third eye), then you begin to see that this is a game. We don’t die. We see that the body is not “me”!

When Guruji came out of the 40 Days, his whole life was capsized. He was free of the body. He did not know how to be active again. There was no creativity in him, he was just caught in this head space in an ecstatic bliss, and it was difficult to engage in this world again. It took him months to own the body once more without being the body. He had to learn to live again in a body that was not him. He could see the Play, he was no longer ignorant. When he showered, he was washing the body but only feeling the energy body. When looking at flowers, he just saw life. When speaking to people, he could feel their inner world. He was listening and speaking inside of them. Initially, he could not talk about this, people would think he was crazy. He grounded himself in the physical world again because he did not want people to think that he was crazy. He wanted to master the workplace, in Her, not being the body or the mind.

It becomes a Play when we can see through Her eyes and She is trying to guide us all the way. We need to stay aligned to Her. The use of the intellect is to stay aligned with Her. You don’t begin to feel your Divinity until you come to the brow (the Rudra granthi is opened up). The awareness of you being Her requires the brow center to open up in the bindu area. There you begin to feel that you are Divine, that you are like Her. Guruji had shades of that before the 40 Days, but She had to cocoon him to hold that power in the right place. Because that is awesome power! That is why many teachers have to be careful on how to use that power. When you are half-baked, you can do manipulative things under the guise of spirituality. The ultimate journey needs to be made, and we need to understand that journey beyond the bindu.

When Guruji went to India, he was awakened to the heart first, which protected him, before he he had the strong manas awakening. When he wanted to go back to India for the second time, he got the invitation to come back for the teacher training, and he really appreciated this and was able to get into a better relationship with Muktananda. He had to go within for this. He honored the Master and the lineage but had to go within. He almost left India without even going to see him, but the Trinidadian swami told him to go and see him. Out of gratitude, Guruji went to see him, and it was Divinely perfect. Muktananda started to talk but Guruji just wanted to touch Muktananda’s feet, totally at peace and in oneness with him and so grateful to be able to hold the feet of the Master.

And whilst Guruji was holding his feet, Muktananda took his walking stick and held it over Guruji’s back, and Guruji thought this was the ultimate blessing, like knighthood. And when Guruji came back up, immediately Guruji realized how this being changed his live and he wanted Muktananda to give him a name. Muktananda closed his eyes, contemplated, and said Vasudeva. Priceless. Guruji was totally fulfilled. He had bowed to the Guru before but never touched him. He left India extremely happy. 7 months after, the 40 Days happened.

This is the incredible relationship we can have with the Master and how Kundalini can guide us perfectly through it. She bonded Guruji and Muktananda together in the perfect way. And at the end of the 40 Days, Guruji was a different being, totally in service to the Master and to seekers.

If we can align to Kundalini on the journey and begin to feel that Divinity and do our sadhana, then with grace we can jump into the inner space. And don’t try to do what Guruji did, but stay with your own karma, whatever it is. She is with you. Guruji was happy from the moment of spiritual awakening and didn’t care for anything else. All he knew was that he was in connection with Her, and he had that certainty that She was with him. That was the best he could have. And when the manas opened up, he knew She was with him always. When it was just the heart, he could lose Her, but when the manas opened and he focused there, he could feel Her presence immediately. And this just intensified in the two years after.

The journey in the Rudra space is a marvelous journey and Kundalini is with you at every step. We are the ones who have to uncover. She is giving us all the messages and all the kriyas, but we have to do the work! She is always with us!

Summary

  • We have three antahkaranas, inner instruments of the soul: the ego (“I”-maker), the manas, and the buddhi (intellect). The intellect is that processing power that allows us to think through things so that we can grow in consciousness and uncover all that we are.
  • The ego is in a Play of the Divine and the Divine Self is always at the center of the Play, continuously behind the ego. Kundalini is always there, waiting for us to begin to look for Her and come back to Her. She is trying to support us, helping us with kriyas, and showing us what to do. We are the ones who need to do the work!
  • We need to use our intellect to stay aligned to Her. When the manas opens up, we can focus there and feel Her presence immediately. When the brow center opens up in the bindu area, we begin to feel that we are Divine, that we are like Her.

Enjoy the practices!

Prabha

(Each day, I’ll try to give some notes and a short summary of the main practices outlined in Guruji’s morning talk, shortly after the program finishes!)
