Susanna H. Miller was born and spent her childhood in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, USA. There, she first developed a love for animals and nature which never left her. She received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at N.C. State University and went on to study at the University of Florida where she received her Master of Science in Wildlife and Range Sciences. She continued with her studies of natural communities through programs with the Florida Game and Fish Commission. She also pursued varied interests by working as a teacher and at local horse farms, while maintaining an avid interest in marine life and boating.
After coming to Trinidad, her interests expanded to the areas of biodynamic farming, photography, and music. She is a Reiki Master and a certified Yoga teacher, offering daily classes at the Blue Star Centre in Claxton Bay. She is also an avid birdwatcher and enjoys volunteering for the Annual Christmas Bird Count in Trinidad each year.
