Background of the Centre
The Blue Star Counselling and Therapy Centre was established
in March 2002 following Sri Vasudeva’s visits to two major
therapy centres in Europe through the invitation of Dr Imelda
Mc Carthy. These centres of training are to the forefront of
the therapy field in England and Denmark. Sri Vasudeva immediately
saw the possibilities for establishing a similar yet unique
centre in Claxton Bay.
With Dr Imelda McCarthy at the helm, as Programme Director,
a course of study was formulated which incorporated conventional
approaches to counselling and therapy and a new approach developed
by Dr Mc Carthy and Sri Vasudeva.
In March 2005 the first group to complete the three-year programme
received their certificates of completion. |
| The Approach |
The Co-Creative approach to counselling and therapy is a common
sense one which enables individuals to address difficulties.
It is an approach that rests on the following principles:
* We are multi-dimensional beings
* In the Spirit we are free
* We are co-creators
* We co-create in an already intelligent Field
* We co-exist in a Field of infinite possibilities
In the process of counselling, the co-creation of ‘sacred
space’, where clients and helpers meet and in which solutions
emerge, exists in a field of infinite possibilities. While a
skilled therapist or counsellor is important in facilitating
the co-creative process, it is their ‘presence’
and the quality of the therapeutic relationship, which are seen
as the main factors in this venture. Therefore, in the acts
of co-creation the solution-building process is directed neither
by the therapist nor the client per se but rather by the collective
wisdom, which is manifesting in and through the total context
involved.
