Morning Meditation
We begin our meditation on this beautiful day as we behold the glory of our Creator. Let us offer thanks.
Beloved God we thank You for the blessings of a new day. We ask on this day that You take away the darkness from within us and fill us with Your light, the light of Your Holy Spirit. Open our hearts that we may experience Your pure love. Bring peace to our restless minds that we may feel Your presence of infinite peace. Grant us the awareness to experience Your presence in and around us in every moment. This we ask of You as we enter our meditation today.
Let us bring our attention to the present moment. Let us centre ourselves in that space of peace. And let us acknowledge the presence of God in us and around us. Let us acknowledge that the human body is a gift from God to us and that this body has a life of its own. The soul lives within the body but we are not the body. Let us become aware of that and let us centre in our soul’s consciousness in that place of infinite peace and love and know, remember and realise that we are not this perishable human body, that we are the eternal spirit pure and free that lives within this human body. Let us centre ourselves in that ocean of infinite peace. Behind your mind is an ocean of infinite peace, infinite love.
Centre yourself in that soul’s consciousness within you and extend your love to the physical body, the perishable body. ‘I love you my body.’ As you say this with your soul’s consciousness every cell of your body experiences your love. ‘I love you my body, you are God’s gift to me, I love you my every cell, you are so precious to me.’ Fill your entire body with your love. Let your mind be focused upon God. This is a moment that is devoted to God, completely.
Begin to observe your breathing, breathing out slowly, breathing away your thoughts, revitalising your body with subtle energy, the vitality from the air that you breathe, the prana. Focus on the point between the eyebrows, the third eye, the eye of divine seeing, the eye of concentrating, the eye of divine will.
In the peacefulness of the mind, repeat your sacred words and feel how they come alive, the mantra, the affirmation, the prayer. Let every thought be an offering to the Supreme Self within you.
Expand your awareness to embrace all of creation. We live in a vast Universe. The Supreme Consciousness dwells in the entire Universe. Extend your love, your peace and your powerful intentions. ‘May there be peace love and harmony in our world.’
Morning Talk
Welcome to a new day. How beautiful it is to spend this time in prayer in the early morning. The early morning hour is called ‘God’s hour, Brahma Mohur.’ It is the hour of God. Many devotional people are waking up early in the morning and praying, so the subtle atmosphere of thoughts is purer and you can make a better connection with the Divine. As the day progress you will find that the energy changes with the day, but today is Sunday and many people are in churches and in temples, so the energy is different.
The physical body feels different after praying. Chanting is a wonderful discipline because you are centred within and you are revitalising the body by the voice and by the activities. The chakras are sending out energy, the heart energy of love, the vocal energy of sound, the mental concentration in contemplation. The chakra energy is very active in an outward sense and all the senses are alive. And the body becomes nourished by the whole experience.
How beautiful it is to see the transition of darkness into light. We have come here when it was dark and we have seen the transition to light. We felt the warmth and the light of the sun and we see the beauty around. Your Inner Self is like that. When the mind begins to settle and becomes peaceful, it is able to see the inner landscape and feel the wonderful love that is in there. If you are not able to make the mind peaceful, you will never be able to feel that expanse of love that comes from your soul’s consciousness.
Every day it is extremely important to go to that place of complete peace where you are able to experience and express that deeper part of you. You are able to give attention to that deeper part of you that we call ‘spirit.’ As you begin to experience spirit, you experience a love that is so powerful and deep, a love that is free from pain, worry and fear. All this disappears in the sunshine of love. This is what happens when you go into your soul’s consciousness and the peace is so deep, and you become rested in that peace. If you do not do this, you are denying yourself something so beautiful, something that is right within you. Then you begin to act like a beggar looking for wealth when it is all inside of you. Deep peace is inside of you; powerful love is inside of you; enormous power is inside of you; but you live like a beggar thinking, ‘I have no love, I have no peace, and I have no joy.’ As you go deeper into your spirit this is how you feel, you become replenished. This is the joy of the moment.
As you enter your day and go through your day, try to protect this wonderful feeling that you earn from your spiritual discipline. You can do this by continuing to remember the mantra or continuing to sing, or continuing to consciously manifest and express more love and peace in everything you do. Continue to do it and this wonderful feeling that you feel now will be maintained.
The truth is, how you feel now should be a continuous experience; while you are speaking or working or whatever you are doing, it should have this degree of peace.
That is my wish for you today on this Sunday, this day of light. May you be filled with light. May your day be filled with joy. May you know no sorrow. May your day be filled with that.
