Sri Vasudeva would like all of this completed before we start work on the new ashram in Brasso (central Trinidad). The new ashram involves much preparation, planning and building of basic infrastructure as well as actual facilities /buildings. This will take a few years to complete to the point where Sri Vasudeva will be able to move and live there full-time. So while all this is happening, the existing facility at Claxton Bay needs to be improved to accommodate the increasing number of visitors, as well as in preparation for the eventual conversion of this property into a healing centre or learning and training facility.
This is one of the reasons why Sri Vasudeva has put on hold all his overseas trips this year, so that work can proceed full speed ahead and have his full attention and supervision. This will enable all work at lower portion of hill - (see site plan) ‘Phase 1’ to be completed within one year. We will then have the required facilities and accommodation here so that we can turn our full attention to the design and building of the new Ashram.
Because of the size and scope of this project, we are asking and will need everybody’s help. We currently have workers and visitor’s on-site demolishing existing structures and reshaping the landscape at the lower portion of the ashram. Besides needing labour with the construction, we will also need help in the kitchen and with other seva duties. So if you would like to be a part of turning Sri Vasudeva’s vision into reality, please come and join us.
As you know, all of this will require significant funding, and since Blue Star operates on donations, we are also asking for any financial contributions that you are able to make. We have already had one successful fundraiser, with another to follow later in February with all proceeds going towards the costs of this project.
Here in Trinidad we have a great sense of teamwork happening and a lot of enthusiasm and excitement for what is to follow. Sri Vasudeva would like to encourage everyone to get involved and to use this project as an opportunity to come together to work as a team, both in your Blue Star Centres abroad and in Trinidad.
