Sri Vasudeva speaks at Blue Star European Retreat in Holland

Update 1 -Monday September 11, 2006

This is the first European Retreat in Blue Star history and we were happy to meet a lot of our foreign Blue Star friends - from Romania, Ireland, France, Canada and Denmark to join us in our European Retreat.

An interactive session with members as Sri Vasudeva observes

Sri Vasudeva talked about the journey we need to make, that each spiritual journey is unique and that every step is special and joyous.  How special it is for him to meet us, like a birth, every time. There is an exchange of energy between him and every single person. He emphasised the importance of keeping the discipline so that we can progress. Whatever goal we want to achieve, this retreat can make it possible. When we meet a person it’s not only meeting a body, but many spiritual levels at the same time.

The Physical, Subtle and Spiritual Body
We live in a body, but we are not the body. The body goes together with the senses. Everything of the senses is about the body. The subtle body contains the chakras or spiritual centres.. We are beings of consciousness, living in a body with the power of subtle energy. The goal is to experience this fully. The spiritual body is about going into meditation and making the mind quiet, it is more than suppressing thoughts, which is a real challenge. Experiencing all three bodies should be the goal of meditation.

Update 2 -Tuesday September 12, 2006

Today, Sri Vasudeva spoke on the subtle body and the seven centres of energy. Our mind comes under control, when our eyebrow centre is developed. He emphasizes the importance of the many functions of the brow centre.  When heart and head centres are working together, we are in harmony. An obstacle can be that the heart centre is not yet open and the brow centre is developed. We can get too self-confident. We need to temper it with humility. When our throat chakra is open, we can speak with emotion. The whole being is involved in speaking.

Sri Vasudeva explains a story is about crossing the river and then taking the boat with us. So we carry our burden of the past. By living in the awareness of the seven chakras (subtle body) we live in the present. If we made a mistake, don’t let it mess up our lives, by thinking about it over and over.

Update 3 -Wednesday September 13, 2006

Today’s intention is to show the power of the heart, brow and throat chakra in human communication; how to speak without words and listen and talk from all of the chakra’s (spiritual centres)

Sri Vasudeva relives the message of yesterday. We need to live in the present and leave our burdens behind; therefore we need to control the mind. And to control the mind we can use a mantra or an affirmation. Ghandi repeat the mantra ‘Ram’. The smaller the mantras, the better they stay in the mind. The mind loves to be occupied, so give the mind the mantra to engage the mind. This can energize the mind during meditation; also the breath can help to sustain this process. As we expand the “I”, we spiritually grow, our ego becomes transformed and we will finally be reborn.  But we have to do the work.

Sri Vasudeva explains that the “I” needs to be expanded by becoming aware of our own vibrations. We can also influence other people through eye contact, speech, and touch. People who live in higher awareness, can do this very easily. Sometimes we have the feeling we are not good enough or that we can’t cope with life. This means that we are still in the mind. He said, “Life without enlightenment is miserable”. But we should go on and not be afraid to meet our challenges. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes we feel lonely, but that’s not necessary. We do not need someone to make us happy. All the love is inside of us.
We are divine with the capacity to live in high levels of love consciousness. Then we can have different thoughts, more loving speech, look more friendly, be more expressive, love more, etc. In this way we see the magic of relationships and are good instruments to work with the universe. We have to realize that we are the sparks of a big spiritual fire, the source.

Update 4 -Thursday September 14, 2006

Sri Vasudeva summarizes that he has spoken about the brow and the throat centers, and that the throat can bring great power to the voice, silence and communication. Yesterday he spoke about the heart and the qualities of the heart. Having control over our emotions, power and communication too.

The navel centre is important for vitality and self-confidence. Creating an awareness of this area is extremely important and to activate this centre it is important to have a guide. Breathing is very important. It may seem a very simple act, but it is not.

 Breathing Exercises
First we learn how to breathe through the left and right nostril and feel the difference. Than we practice deep belly breathing. Sri Vasudeva shows us the Uyaje breath, which is the breath of victory. Afterwards we practice middle chest breathing and top chest breathing. We learn the fully breath in all three areas and the Kaphalabathi. The more the chakras are opened the more profound the experience will be.

Update 5 -Friday September 15, 2006

Sri Vasudeva gave a summary of what we have focused on this week. He talks about the three bodies - physical, subtle and spiritual body. And about the four states, waking, dreaming, deep sleep and total awareness, total freedom state.
He spoke on the importance of the navel area, and the breath, in reclaiming our real power from within. There are people, he explains, who can actually live from Prana energy alone. He speaks about the importance of each chakra and how we can develop them more and more.

Sri Vasudeva continues to emphasize the importance in developing our awareness of these centres. It is possible to feel some kind of energy inside of us. If we do, then we will have the motivation and inspiration as well as we will begin to understand that there is a certain power within. It is an extremely important system.

Today’s focus is on grounding. How do we ground ourselves? Isn’t that important? The human body is an important part of our life in the world, an important vessel. We should understand it more and more. We should try to understand the biology of our bodies. It is fascinating. Sri Vasudeva talked about the relationship we can have with our body. We need a certain kind of awareness to do that.

Update 6 -Saturday September 16, 2006

Sri Vasudeva tries to remind and inspire us - When we are centred in ourselves that is true self-esteem. Today we will have the workshop death and dying. Disintegration of the body and transition of the spirit.  Sri Vasudeva feels that in twenty first century, where we have accomplished so much, death is still misunderstood.

Sri Vasudeva teaches us that "Community Healing" is a possibility. Of course, there is a time that body will expire. We need to learn, to graciously say goodbye to the body, and make a peaceful transition. As long as we are here we need to serve the community by example, lovingly and caringly. Community healing happens by osmosis.

Ultimate healing is not about the body, but about going to the space where all is well. Healing happens when there is no fear. If you are fearful, the ones around will absorb it, so, who you are, is the best and easiest way to influence others.

Make a transition from not believing to believing:
Once we feel our own inner truth, our intent will be so strong and the Universe will assist us.
Once our intent is strong and sincere and if we are a powerful, positive person we will influence people around us, as they will around them. The snowballing effect is called "Critical Mass". Even alone in the room making strong intentions for a particular cause, we will be connected to the other individuals or groups in the world that are intending the same thing. Group energy is very powerful and Transformation or Community Healing is a possibility.

Death and Dying
Sometimes we are faced with terminal illness and there is no hope for recovery. The body is on its way out. For some – perhaps most - people this is very difficult to face. In our culture we all fear this subject. We need to be educated in this.

When Sri Vasudeva goes to a funeral he is able to connect to the deceased one. He often tells the family that the deceased person is trying to communicate with them but they are looking at the wrong place! They look at the body. He tells them to become silent and think of the person and send loving thoughts. And the funeral becomes like a meditation session. The subtle body still exists.

How to help during the dying process
Keep the dying (death) person in a place of strength. The focus has to be on inner strength. Hold them in a space of love and in a beautiful environment. And tell stories of strength, so they can laugh and live in a place of happiness. We can visualize a spirtiual being or diety above them. Or talk about their source, their guide or divine being.
