Dear
Friends,
Sri
Vasudeva arrived safely from Brighton on Wednesday (5th October)
afternoon, and after supper we held a fellowship session with
our core group members, the enjoyment was certainly added
to with the addition of Sanjaya playing his violin harmonizing
with Narayani on the harmonium. It was one of the sweetest
chanting evenings we have experienced for a long while.
Thursday October 6 our workshop started. Sri Vasudeva arrived
at the one hundred year old Mission Church of St Francis,
greeting everyone by saying he was very pleased to be with
such an intimate group. He invited Sanjaya who was visiting
us from London to give a brief violin recital.

Sri Vasudeva took us into a meditation, and followed it with
a talk concerning the quality of silence, and our ability
to maintain that silence within. We chanted together for a
short while, with Narayani playing the harmonium and Sanjaya
accompanying her with his violin. Our conversations with the
Sri Vasudeva during our morning session were interactive,
with one question/answer inviting another. This followed a
similar pattern during the afternoon. Our group was smaller
than usual, but so sweet, with most of us having met Sri Vasudeva
when he has visited before, it was therefore a pleasure to
welcome Annelies, (Sanjaya’s mother,) who travelled
from Holland for the day to meet Sri Vasudeva for the first
time.
All comments concerning the day were similar that “this
was the best workshop ever”, and we thank our beloved
teacher for taking the time to visit us once again, and we
look forward to a return visit in the not too distant future!
