My
Dear Ones,
I am always amazed to see how we are naturally drawn to love
and appreciate diversity in some cases and yet reject it in
others. We love blending colours, especially in garments and
household decor. We love listening to different voices blending
in a choir or the music of varied instruments in a symphony.
We love the diversity of plant and animal life in Nature.
Yet, we are challenged when it comes to appreciating different
cultures, languages, beliefs, personalities and other aspects
of our human existence. Is it possible that we can also appreciate
this diversity, knowing it is part of our beautiful and great
heritage as human beings? Living in harmony as a society implies
appreciating all aspects of our diversity. We are born with
different personalities, talents, physical appearances, likes
and dislikes. Can we live in harmony with this diversity that
surrounds us, seeing the beauty that it is? We are challenged
as a world today to unite, as global communication has brought
so close together. Can we make that leap as citizens of one
world?
I leave you with these questions to reflect upon today. Each
day in our own lives we see that diversity before us in a
real way in our homes, workplaces and social life and we are
challenged. How do we respond? Do we create and support conflict
and segregation or do we support and encourage harmony and
cooperation?
Contemplate it. I will continue on this subject in my next
message.
Yours in service,
Vasudeva
