My Dear Ones,

In my message last week I wrote:

When I think of world peace or living in a society where there is true love, charity and kindness and compassion I think of the need for enlightened leadership. By this I mean being led by those who live in the light, being led by those who manifest the higher qualities of the spirit in their lives.

We all hope to live in a world of peace, love and harmony. Today with so much poverty, disease, disasters, war and other challenges we wonder if this is but a dream. We long for this possibility but it seems to be so out of reach. When I think of the future there is so much hope within me despite what I see around me. It is because I believe in human possibilities. I believe that, more than any living creature in this world, we have the power to change things.

I also believe that we can create change in our world if we have the right kind of leadership. Leadership is extremely important in creating positive change in our world. When given a task we look for guidance. When faced with crises or challenges in our lives we naturally look for leadership to rise out of them. We want someone to guide us. We become vulnerable as we submit willingly to whoever offers to lead. So leaders are so important in our world. They can help to build our society or to destroy it. If we have leadership ability can we be responsible and strive to be better leaders? Do people around us listen to us and look for guidance from us? Do we influence their lives in this regard? Are we leading them to believe in themselves and be better individuals? If we are followers, do we work with our leaders in the best way helping them to develop and learning to develop ourselves? We need to ask ourselves these questions.

If our world is to develop we need leaders and followers to have the state of consciousness that will lead to unity and progress. We need to work from the level of spirit. Those who live in the consciousness of true love and peace manifesting the higher qualities of the spirit bring light and goodness to our world whether they have chosen to be leader or follower. Having experienced a powerful inner transformation that came from the experience of my spiritual self and witnessing over the years how this gift touched so many lives around me I believe in the possibilities of creating a better world beginning with personal change. In cases where I am chosen by the Universe to lead I choose to lovingly serve and in cases where I need follow I let the Universe guide me.

Can we be better leaders in service and learn to follow the Universe as it guides? Let us reflect upon this as we seek to build a world of peace, love, unity and progress.

Lovingly in service,
Vasudeva
