The following is Sri Vasudeva's Morning Talk for

INVITATION TO SUBTLE BODY AWARENESS

Welcome to Day 27 of our 40 Day Retreat 2009.

Yesterday, I spoke about the journey in the light or what I called the sunshine of the soul as opposed to the dark night of the soul. I have been speaking about these varied experiences of awakening the shaktipat experience, the granthis;experiences in the different chakras as we become awakened, the negativeexperiences and positiveexperiences.

Today, I want to talk about the chakra body awareness. We need to become aware of that chakra body, the body of the seven chakras. This is our subtle energy body and it is a body of 72,000 subtle channels. It is well integrated into the physical body. We have lost awareness of this chakra body being heavily identified with the gross body.

On spiritual awakening or energy awakening we begin to become aware once more of that chakra body and when awakened we may have experiences in any one of them which of course tells us where we are.

I spoke about the journey through the chakras. It is an evolutionary journey. The consciousness having become involved in matter is now in an evolutionary journey, back to its full awareness or full being. Every center, where it has become involved and through which it will evolve is a center of consciousness and it is also a center of energy. These are called Energy, Consciousness Centers.

Element Associated with Each Chakra

I also said that each center has an element involved in it. The base center for example is associated with the earth element, the second chakra with the water element, the third chakra with the fire element, the fourth chakra with the air element, the fifth with the ether element and the sixth chakra is associated with the mind. When these chakras are opened we begin to realize the connection with the different elements. We begin to realize as well, how we are subjected to these elements and the awakening brings about mastery ultimately over these elements. It is extremely important to be aware of what is happening in this body as we become spiritually awakened. Subtle or chakra body awareness is extremely important.

Chakras – Centers of Awareness and Intention

As these centers open up they give us tools to go deeper. What is important in all of this, is the awareness that we carry and the power of intention that we can use in every one of the chakras. It is the power of will. These are centers through which we can express intentionality: the intention to love, the intention to be active, the sexual intention, the intention to be grounded, the intention to communicate, the intention to think. Intention drives it. It is extremely important to see how that works.

With intention is a flow of prana, a flow of subtle energy and so the entire body system of nerve channels or Nadis become engaged as we move intention. Just the intention to do something, engages the subtle body in a very powerful way as the chakras become awakened. It is vital that we come into the chakra or subtle body awareness and begin to feel that the physical body is different to the subtle energy body. That is an extremely important awareness. As we become spiritually awakened we begin to feel this difference. Do you feel this difference? It is extremely important to understand that.

Stress - Subjection to the Gross Elements

Sometimes we move back into heavy identification with the (physical) body and into the subtle energy again and back into the physical body, then into the subtle energy and that is where we sometimes experience all the stresses. Because the moment you come back to the physical body awareness you are subjected once again to the gross elements. The more you come back to the subtle energy body you find yourself mastering the elements more and more. It is extremely important to have that awareness.

Breathing – Tool to Purify the Subtle Energy Body

One of the things that can help you through this journey of energy awareness is the breathing. That is why I focus a lot on the breathing. The moment you begin to move the breath, you are moving prana or subtle energy and this can help you to purify the subtle energy field. When you become awakened, breathing takes on a different experience. It is important to see and experience this and to be aware of it. In the meditation I guide you to use the breathing, breathe out slowly and completely, breathe in slowly and deeply and observe what is happening as you breathe. As you do that and really focus on that, you will begin to feel subtle shifts in your inner being.

Each Chakra is Connected to the Breath

If you read up a little more on this subject, you will realize that each chakra is connected to the breath that flows through the right and left nostril. It shows the energy connection between the breathing and the chakras.  We actually bring energy from the air that we breathe, through two different channels. They are called Ida Pingala. The Ida is the left nostril channel and the Pingala is the right nostril channel. As we breathe into the nostrils, we are actually breathing in subtle energy as well, that flows through these two Nadis or these two channels which comes to the chakra points. This is an experience you can have as your subtle body is awakened. You find when you breathe you are drawing a different kind of energy into your energy body. This helps to stimulate the chakras and their connection with the physical body. You find yourself feeling a different kind of energy as you breathe and as you focus on different chakras. When you breathe, your awakened experience can be different.

It is a marvelous journey when you begin to focus on your breathing and to see what happens. Sometimes the breathing exercises may come to you involuntarily. They are breathing Kriyas. If you want to purify the pranic body or the subtle energy body with the Nadis it is good to begin to learn breathing exercises and perform them. Then they will help you to cleanse that body and stabilize your energy field in a very powerful way. Getting into this subtle or chakra body awareness it is wonderful to see how the breath works.

The Intention to Love Also Engages Prana

Of course even in the intention to love you are engaging the movement of prana. When you say I love you my body or you extend love to everything around, you are actually engaging prana from the heart center into the subtle energy body and into transmission on the outside. The intention to love also engages prana in the field. Amazing isn’t it, how powerful intention is and how it works with the prana and the subtle energy body? How important it is to come into the awareness of subtle energy and to experience the subtle energy at the different chakras as they work through and with your intentions. Amazing!

I am going to begin a series of talks now about these chakras, and the powers they bring as they become awakened, and the need to be aware of them, and the need to be able to use these tools that are coming to you to continue further development, and reach that space of ultimate mastery over the elements. This is what will come eventually, mastering the elements. This is the power we all have. This is the power that is possible. I am not going to say much more today. How important it is to come into subtle body or chakra body awareness.

As you get these spiritual experiences, begin to observe the flow of energy and begin to observe what intention does as you engage the subtle energy body. Begin to observe what happens at the different centers. It is a marvelous experience. That is where our power lies, in awakening the subtle energy body and going deeper inside, that we may get mastery over the energy field. This much I will say to you today and we will continue in our next talk.

Be aware of the subtle energies. Be aware of what the breath can do. Be aware of the chakras. Be aware of the power of intention.

Post Meditation Remarks: Breath - A Powerful Tool on This Journey

The meditation took you into the awareness of your energy field and the chakra centers through which you can express your intentions.

Breathing is a powerful tool on this journey. It is how I center myself inside and stabilize my energies. I use the breath.

On spiritual wakening I could feel the change in my breathing. Breathing was not just bringing air into my lungs; breathing brought a different kind of energy into me. Then I understood that when I breathe, I also bring energy to chakras and I also stimulate the awakening of chakras when I breathe.

Throughout meditation I engage my breathing. I am always aware of the breath and the energy it brings even in my physical exercises. I am very much ‘breath’ aware and I use the breathing to manage the energy in the field. Breath is a very powerful tool on the journey. We will speak more about it. Have a blessed day.
